Maxwell, 61, who has been convicted of sex trafficking, had previously cast doubt on the authenticity of the photo, said to have been taken inside the Mayfair home, showing Andrew with his arm around Ms Giuffre Was gone, and Maxwell in the background.

Speaking from prison in the US, Maxwell said he was “certain” the picture was not genuine.

In an interview with Talk TV that aired on Monday evening, Maxwell said: “It’s fake. I don’t believe it’s real for a second, in fact I’m sure it’s not.

She added: “Well, there’s never been an original and there’s no further picture, and I’ve only seen a photocopy of it.”

Andrew has also questioned the legitimacy of his image with Ms Giuffre, formerly known as Virginia Roberts.

The duke paid Ms Giuffre millions to settle a civil sexual assault case – a woman he claimed he had never met.

Andrew is now considering what legal options are available to him to reverse the deal, The Sun on Sunday and Mail on Sunday reported.

Ms Giuffre sued him for alleged sexual assault after she was tipped off by Maxwell’s former partner, disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein.

Andrew denied the claims.

The Duke has previously said he has “no memory” of meeting Ms Giuffre and is skeptical of the photo, claiming he is “not one to hug” or “display affection” in public.

In an interview with BBC Newsnight in 2019, Andrew said that while he recognized himself in the picture with Ms Giuffre, he claimed it was not possible to prove whether the image was a fake.

He also claimed that the photo could not have been taken in London, as he was in his “travelling clothes”.

Ms Giuffre insisted to BBC Panorama that the photograph was “authentic” and said she had given the original to the FBI in 2011.

In a statement, Maxwell cast doubt on the authenticity of the photo.

She said that the surroundings in the picture looked “familiar”, but added: “We can’t really establish the picture and all that”, adding: “I don’t know if that’s true, if it’s a real picture. Or not. “

Maxwell was sentenced last year to 20 years in prison after being found guilty by a jury of soliciting young girls to molest Epstein between 1994 and 2004.

Epstein was found dead in his cell at a federal prison in Manhattan in August 2019 while he was awaiting trial on sex trafficking charges.

The death was ruled a suicide.

Jeremy Kyle Live: Ghislaine Behind Bars airs Monday nights at 7pm on TalkTV.
