Cork councilor calls for ‘drastic measures’ to deal with out-of-control dogs


Cork County Councilor Bernard Moynihan told his fellow members at a local authority meeting on Monday that ‘stronger measures’ should be introduced to curb out-of-control dogs and their owners should be held accountable for their animals. ,


The Kiskimm based Fianna Fáil councilor noted the prevalence of lurchers – a breed he described as being halfway between a collie and a greyhound – and the danger they pose. He mentioned a number of recent attacks, including one in County Wexford that left a young boy badly injured.
